NESCOE works to ensure New England has adequate resources to serve consumer needs at the lowest price over the long-term consistent with reliable power system operation and environmental objectives. NESCOE recommends policies and comments on proposed rule and tariff changes related to resource adequacy, demand response, and energy efficiency.

NESCOE’s efforts related to resource adequacy include work on the region’s wholesale electric energy market, the forward capacity market, and other resource adequacy measures.
